They are capital for grazing purposes, and among other settlers a certain French Marquis, well known in Paris, accompanied by his pretty young wife, a New York lady, has established himself. The Marquis has money and brains, and has bought much land in the locality. He has an extensive and very productive cattle " ranche, " and has naturally taken up the leading position among his neighbours. He is as agreeable and handsome a man as any one could desire to meet. It is not suprising that his success should have aroused the envy, and even jealousy, of some of his less fortu nate neighbours.
