The child in the womb reproved him. Vrihusptitee cursed AXD NAMES — INDRU, HIS IMAGE AND FESTIVALS. 23 the child ; on which account it was born blind, and called Deerghii- ttima". When grown up, Deerghn-ttima followed the steps of his uncle, and from his criminal amours Goutumu and other Hindoo saints Avere born. Deerghu-tuma was delivered from the curse of Vrihiispiltee by Yoodhist'hirit.
This god has many names, among which are the following : Brumha, or, he who multiplies [mankind].
