What reading level is Abraham Lincoln And Men of War Times Some Personal Recollections of War And Po book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Both were considered as hopeful candidates for the Ivieutenant-Gen- OUR UNREWARDED HEROES. 335 eralship to which Grant appointed Sheridan. I remem- ber a conversation with Senator John Sherman soon after the election of Grant to the Presidency in 1868, in which he expressed the opinion that either Thomas or Meade would certainly be promoted when Grant became President; and at that time he certainly reflected the be- lief of his brother, then Lieutenant-General, who was soon to be promoted to th...e highest rank of the army. General Thomas's military record is one of the most remarkable to be found in the history of our civil con- flict. He is one of the very few commanders who never committed a serious military error, who never sacrificed a command, and who never lost a battle. He was prob- ably more cautious than Meade, but I doubt whether any man of all the generals of the war was better equipped for the supreme command of all our armies than George H. Thomas. He lacked Grant's persistent aggression, but Grant never lost a battle that Thomas would have fought, and never failed in an assault that Thomas would have ordered.
