Late on the second day the committee reported resolu- tions which, in substance, declared for the integrity of the Union of 'the States, denouncing disunionism in every form; denouncing the Buchanan pro-slavery plan of attempting to force slavery into Kansas, explicitly so the Lecompton Con- stitution; denouncing the reopening of the African slave- 456 ABRAHAM LINCOLN.
