THE New Review for August, 1893, P- I 9 l > con - tained an article by the present writer which showed 1 that the Act of Elizabeth ordered the parish officers to procure a stock of flax, iron, and other ware to provide employment for the poor, and that the same Act enabled them to sell the manufactured goods.
