Neither these reports nor the volume of " Le Quattro Giornate" have been discovered, although careful research has been made by historians of several countries in the archives of Spain and Portugal.
The informal letters of Vespucius to his friends, describing his first four voyages, therefore constitute the principal direct testimony of Vespucius in regard to his discoveries.
