" If the master of any such vessel shall exhibit to the mayor and commissioners of health, such satisfactory proof as is required in the thirty-first section of this title, they may permit the vessel to be hauled to any wharf of the city, and such produce or merchandize may be there landed ; otherwise it shall be sent to some suitable place out of the city, for pu- rification, subject to their regulations.
