In choosing representa- tives, Wilbraham united with the first parish, and made a majority. Contention, whenever any efforts were made to transact town bu- siness, became constant and violent. For a year or two, the town meetings were holden on the west side of the river, and the town 41 records kept there. In one instance, when the choice of munici- pal officers was attempted, after spending four days, only a part of them were chosen.
