The circumstances look to the con- tinuance of the vessel and these men with her for a time in 6 the harbor of New Haven. Until the success or failure of the expedition was known, Lynn was too remote a waiting place and Cow Bay rather near for both Howe and Farret, who were liable to arrest knew it.
