We were also honoured with a president of congress under the confederation ; who was afterward a member of that au- gust assembly that formed the constitution of the United States, and of the convention of this State that ratified it4 This town enjoyed the residence, and here are deposit- ed the ashes of the most distinguished benefactor§ of Thompson, and David Devens ; Peter Tufts, jun.
