Due to limited track capacity, fewer Dan Ryan trains than needed can be sched- uled.
By rerouting Jackson Park/Engle- wood trains out of the subway and onto the elevated Loop, Dan Ryan trains can be operated through the State Street Subway to pro- vide a more than 30 percent in- crease in capacity.
