The textile industry has become a special target of the Communists, who are assigning "colonizers, " propagandists, and agitators to the area in order to further the party's aim to build its membership in the South.
Hearings held in Atlanta, Ga, on July 29, 30, and 31, 1958, 5 very clearly revealed methods used and the extent to which the party's plans for the South are being carried out. Armando Penha, a former undercover agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was par- ticularly qualified to furnish the committee with the Communist conspiracy's plans and tactics in the South and other areas by virtue of his very recent work within the Communist Party.
