N. Hubbell who summers in Quincy, and Mr. J H. Robinson of Chicago, who gave us a present of 114 books published within the last ten years. The Woman's Auxiliary of the Rumney Fire Department gave a very valuable present of a set of new World Book Encyclopaedia, which has been in constant use and of great help in our reference work.
During the last thirty years, the trend in reading has seen a definite change. Our shelves have been over- crowded with books that have not been taken out in years,... in some cases have never left the shelves. We have disposed of a great many of these that are out- dated and worn out. The State Library advocates that weeding out of books be done every year. As this has not been done before here, the number seems large, but there are still more to weed out as we can afford to replace them. The recataloging of the adult books has been completed. The children's books will be done during the current year.
