In the first place, the correctness of this maxim, the actual taking place of this asserted fact, is to be proved. Who might not have had the experience, that this conscience, this ethical law, had manifested itself, and manifested itself daily, in him even directly in that form noted in 14-16, in the form of an ethical judgment condemning the will ?
