And any convoy on that road wouldn't hear anything above their own motor drives. The vast canopy of treetops that made this place a twilight not only prevented anyone from looking down at the exit road and seeing anything on it, but also prevented anyone on it from seeing up.
A poor tactical situation. They could not fight a convoy, probably escorted with tanks, in this water-saturated, hemmed-in forest. Their planes were of no use to them.
He made his way over to the landing field. Sky! Not mu
...ch sky but enough to get ore freighters up and down through. Leaking sky, but sky! He hadn't seen any sky in three days.
The soldiers were in the trees, covering the field. The mine radio bleeper was set in a fifteen-inch diameter vine that coiled like a huge snake up a tall tree. Maybe this field had once been bigger, but the jungle and the trees had encroached deeply.
The big marine attack battle plane wound down from directly overhead, letting the smaller battle plane cover it from above as was proper.

Let's play spot the Church of Happyology member in these reviews. L Ron Hubbard was a hack and nothing about this book required a movie to be made about it. Garbage.

I read this overly long book seven times. I read the bible 15 times. Both take a year to read. Guess which one I liked the most....

If you're a speed reader like I am, it'll only take you at most a week... But I also love this book... It has the perfect blend of action, with sci-fi.. The story is wonderfully written... Too bad I can't say that about ALL the books by this author.

It does not take a year to read! More like a month to a month and a half.

Just like L.Ron Hubbard's other fictions, Battlefield Earth: a Saga of the Year 3000 is interesting with cute characters and a storyline that reminds me of an X BOX game such as Halo 4 or Star Wars or Mass Effect. Other planets with fictional alien leaders and a main protagonist are included in L.Ron Hubbard's fiction books (writings). I like how Mr.Hubbard includes vocabulary from his Scientology teachings such as Dianetics, The Way To Happiness and The Fundamentals Of Thought ect... Reading is one way to increase happiness and Hubbard's fictions allow us to experience this attraction...
