I saw thee in thy bloom of womanhood. Blessing, and blessed by a declining Father, And trod the banks, where Lugar leads his flood. Listening, beside thee, with delight, to gather Sweet lessons of thy filial gratitude ; And, in love's dawnings, fancied I would rather Be blessed with thee in that sweet quiet glen, Than seek for wealth or fame in haunts of men.
