SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY RACE COMMISSION.* The Southern University Race Commission was organized in 191 2 f...or the purpose of studying questions relating to the relation of the races. The commission is composed of professors representing 11 of the southern State univer^ties. Their position as professors in these important institutions makes it possible for them to speak with authority concerning the condition and needs of the Negroes in the Southern States.
The last meeting of the commisdon was held at Asheville, N. C. Dr. R. F. Camp- bell, one of the leading ministers of the city, made the following significant comments on the discussion to which he listened : It was a very notable conference, for several reasons.
