...ree times in the total length to the base of the caudal fin. Form of body elegantly fusiform, the dorsal and ventral borders gently arched, and width of the caudal pedicle a little more than half as great as the maximum depth of trunk. Fins as in P.
speciosus, except that the dorsal fin is less elevated, its height falling considerably short of the maximum depth, and comprising apparently fewer rays. Caudal fin deeply forked. Scales finely denticulated.
The specific title is bestowed in allusion to the dental characteristics.
