Either by riding or walking one should make it a point to at least have a general view of these ext...ernal evidences of the university's greatness. As its classes are conducted on the Quarter system the university is never closed, so that one wishing to see more than the exterior can at any time familiarize one's self with such additional features as is customarily available at such a place. The eastern approach to the grounds can be most quickly reached by the express suburban trains of the Illinois Central R. R. To 57th Street Station, and from thence going west on 57th Street. Trains leave down-town from Randolph Street and Van Buren Street stations, just off Michigan Avenue.
