The name " light " stands for more or fewer judgments according to the stage of thought of the individual who employs it. A so-called analytic judgmen...t is simply the explicit state- ment of judgments already made, and adds nothing to the wealth of the thought-world. It is true that the resolution of a conception into the judgments which it presupposes may be the occasion of a new judgment. It is so when we for the first time observe that a con- ception does presuppose a number of judg- ments ; but in this case we have done more than merely analyse the conception into its constituent elements : we have brought to light the nature of conception and its relation to judgment.
