Many of them, living a considerable distance from the house of God, are very indifferent and do not attend the ordinances of the sanctuary, nor concern themselves about the in- terests of the church and their souls, as it is their duty to do. As the charge is reduced, and as the pastor resides among 'the members, it is to be hoped that the large Lutheran population in that region will be gradually brought into a state of progress and activity.
