Judicial. It is impossible to describe a system of courts that apply to all the states; the courts tend, however, to approach a certain type. There is a Supreme Court in every state, the judges of which represent the entire state. In some counties where the volume of business is very large there are several judges in one county, in others where the volume of business is much smaller there may be one jud'ge for two or three counties. In the STATE GOVERNMENT. 143 latter case the judge goes around from one* county to another and holds sessions of court, the length of the session depending upon the amount of business.
