Coordinate departments. — This account ...includes the pro- portion of operating expenses chargeable to maintenance of way and structures of the railway department, but the distributed charges for which are made to the primary accounts of another coordinate department, such as electric light, heat, power, or gas, vsdthin the same company.
.ToiNT ARRANGEMENTS. — In case the carrier receives power or other product from another company under any joint arrangement for the sharing of operating expenses and for a profit or return upon the value of property used in such production, the proportion of operating expenses chargeable to maintenance of way and struc- tures should be included in this account and the profit or return upon the value of property used in such production should be included under "Deductions from Income." If the joint arrangement does not provide for the separation of operating expenses and profit or return upon the value of property 32 used in such production, the entire amount paid is to be treated as an operating expense chargeable to Account No.
