n 2 180 PERI-UTERINE HEMATOCELE justified the idea that the effusion of blood was the result of an exhalation from the internal surface of the pelvic peritoneum, I should sajj on the contrary, that the metrorrhagic flux which coexisted in these cases with the intra-peritoneal effusion, clearly indicates that the internal sexual hsemorrhage came from some point of the inter-tubar canal. These cases, some of which will be related further on in describing the fifth variety, cannot be ascribed to hsemorrhagic pelvi-peritonitis, and I only mention them that I may not be accused of omitting facts to which others attach great importance, and of unreasonably rejecting what I have not seen.
