The father died in 1841, followed by his widow in 1855. Joshua Taylor, son of William and Phoebe, was born in County Cavan, Ireland, where he married Jane Quinn, a country- woman, and immigrated to Pennsylvania. In 1829 they settled on a farm in Washington county, and five children were born to them, of whom but one is now living, Sophia, widow of William Stew- art, The father died July 3, 1851, followed by his widow December 23, 1886.
