What reading level is Complex Ions in Aqueous Solutions book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

The electrical potential method has been one of the most fruitful ones in the investigation of complex-formation. A general preliminary study of the behaviour of a number of salts from this point of view was made by Abegg and 46 COMPLEX IONS Labendzinski (Zeit. Fur Mektrochemie, 10 (1904)), who measured the E. M. F. 's of cells of the type Metal|Salt of metal|l*0 N. Calomel electrode using the nitrate, chloride, sulphate, and acetate of various metals. The potentials observed showed that at a g
...iven concentration the amounts of metal ions present varied enormously according to the character of the anion, and for the following series of anions continuously decreased : N0 3 ', Cl', S0 4 ", C 2 H3O 2 '. Since conductivity measurements show that salts of all these anions are largely electrolytically dissociated, it follows that complex-formation must have occurred, causing the concentration of free metal ions to fall to very small values. In order to find the constitution of a complex ion, it is not necessary to know the absolute concentrations of the components in the system.
