Among the numerous private individuals present was the Irishman whose name has since become so prominently connected with Irish reform, especially in agriculture, Mr. (now Sir) Horace Plunkett. During the first two days of the gathering the pro- ceedings ran smoothly enough, but on the third day came the business of passing resolutions on fundamen- tal principles which should serve as a guide in drafting a constitution.
