His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to confer the Military Cross on the undermentiened Officers in recognition of their gallantry and distinguished services in the field : — Lieutenant Charles Stuart Craig, 4th Battery, 1st Canadian Field Artillery. For conspicuous gallantry, resource and ability on many occasions, especially on 15th June, 1915, at Givenchy, when he used an 18-pounder gun in the trenches with great effect, destroying 40 yards of the enemy's parapet, two of their machine guns, and a stretch of 75 yards of the wire entangle- ments.
