You may, however, so far satisfy the curiosity of Mrs Taylor as to assure her that, though I have seen many pretty faces (for pretty faces are, T think, more frequent here than in England, unless it be that one has not yet had time to grow sick of the ordinary American prettiness), I have not met with anything that need alarm her on my account.
