Farmers are still progressing faster with planting this year than last year. Specialty crops such as dry peas are almost all planted. Forty-eight percent of barley is emerged, compared to 36 percent last year and the five- year average of 39 percent. Winter wheat condition is rated 75 percent good to excellent, the same as last year.
