Froebel saw, with Pestalozzi, the necessity of forming a new generation of men, and recognized with him the rights of the child. Seen from another angle, this means that human life is a precious something which may not be wasted nor malformed. Froebel's educational objective is the improvement of the human social order through the enrich- ment of human individuality. His special emphasis upon the early years of childhood is only a corollary of his main theorem.
