O'Leary has accomplished many of its goals. The delegation has met with every high-ranking Chinese official, and these talks ha...ve provided a framework for a long-term comprehensive energy relationship between the two nations. This policy supports the Clinton Administration's strategy of constructive engagement.
Results of this strengthened partnership were evident today as Secretary O'Leary and her Chinese counterparts signed seven bilateral agreements focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change, and other energy topics as well as the safety of nuclear research reactors.
