Their castration is more difficult than that of the "straight" pig, but is not as difficult or dangerous as is commonly believed, and in most cases the operation is very successful.
The method of operating is as follows : The hog should be starved for at least twelve hours. The operator's hands must be clean, and the disinfectant solution and instruments are gotten ready the same as in castrating a " straight " pig.
