What reading level is Diseases of the Eye book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Trachoma Although trachoma is a rare disease in England, it is undoubtedly the largest single cause of bUndness in the world as a whole. Almost universal in some Middle East countries such as Egypt, it has spread to Asia, India, Central and South America and Africa. It occurs sporadically in southern and eastern Europe.
It is essentially a chronic contagious inflammation of the conjunctiva and cornea with marked subepithelial infiltration, foUicle formation, vascularization and subsequent scarr
...ing of the cornea. The cicatrization of the palpebral conjunctival lesions of the upper lid causes a severe entropion, the inturned lashes aggravating the already severe corneal lesions.
The aetiological agent is a virus but its identification is still doubtful. Scrapings from the conjunctiva in an active case show numerous inclusion bodies typical of a virus disease, although the exact relationship between the inclusion bodies and the virus is still in doubt. The presence of inclusions, however, is a useful aid to diagnosis.
