Nachdem ich so die Quellen, aus denen der irische Be- arbeiter geschöpft hat, angezeigt habe, wird es richtig sein, darauf hinzuweisen, dass er weder den Pseudocallisthenes in irgend einer Bearbeitung noch Curtius gekannt hat. Er er- wähnt sie nirgends und bis a...uf eine Ausnahme finde ich keine Spur ihrer Benutzung. Diese Ausnahme ist die Erwähnung der Stadt Alexandria apud Porum (60), wo Orosius (III. 19) Ni- caea nennt. Keine der oben angeführten Quellen bietet diesen Namen; dagegen hat ihn der Pseudocallisthenes III. 63 (Jul.
Valorius IIL 35). Hier meine ich jedoch, dass der Ire eine derartige Einzelheit wol einer Glosse in dem von ihm be- nutzten Exemplar des Orosius verdankt haben mag.
Es bleiben ausserdem noch einige Fälle, in denen man vergebens nach einer Quelle sucht.
