One of the most beautiful spots in Honey Creek Valley is Alex- ande...r's Stream, a vast spring or fountain which rushes from a hillside closely resembling the famed Vale of Vaucluse in Provence. As the water of the Alps is said to pour from the Fountain of Vauduse, water from the torrents of the Seven Mountains flows from Alexander's Stream. This fountain was much admired by Edgar Allan Poe during his fabled visit to the Seven Mountains in 1838. Not far from this rare at- traction is the wonderful limestone cavern, Naginey Cave. Ranking with the endless caverns in Virginia and the Wyandot Cave of Indiana and surpassing all Pennsylvania caves except Penn's Cave, it has been strangely neglected of recent years.
