This sewer runs from the ...Ly- ceum down the avenue to the canal or creek below Englewood Avenue. It was built many years ago, and has always been maintained by private parties, and the public know very little about it. It was constructed to drain the lands and cellars of business blocks on both sides of the avenue. Before it was built these lands and cellars were constantly flooded.
This sewer has been a great public benefit and ought to be purchased and kept in repair by the city.
