...1879. Everything indicates that this is undoubtedly an old Indian reservoir.
2.— Ruin 3 Miles East of Florence This ruin, having the form of a low mound, is situated not far from the main irrigation ditch of Florence and about three miles Fig. i56. — Ancient Reservoir east of that town. Although the compound form is not easily detected in this mound, there is no doubt that it belongs to the characteristic ruins of the Gila-Salt Valley. The absence of smaller mounds in its neighborhood indicates that this settlement was never of great size or importance.
