The first hoisting of the sail to an easterly breeze dispelled all these ideas, and the manner in which she cruised about the lake con- vinced them that Englishmen knew something beyond making houses iim upon wheels. Green has offered the use of her to Chapman, but it is said the Bechu- anas have stolen the iron out of her, and if so, it is not likely they have taken mucli pains to preserve the woodwork.
As I returned, after finishing my sketch, I saw John comino; over the flat with the other wao-on, converted, pro tein., into an ambulance for the sick people.
