The Washoes are in particu- lar a friendly race, and commendable for their honesty. Nomadic to a certain degree in their habits, they have still favourite spots in the mountains, where they feed upon a species of pine nut, depending almost wholly upon nature for the supply of their wants, and living under the shelter of the willow-trees.
