What reading level is Fra Paolo Sarpi the Greatest of the Venetians book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

It was of little account in Fra Paolo's day, having not more than six thousand inhabitants, but it was a very ancient place, for we find it mentioned by Sagornino (one of the earliest 100 FRA PAOLO SARPI of Venetian chroniclers) as one of the twelve original lagoon settlements ; it was the seat of a Bishop. Nona was another small place, almost opposite Venice on the coast of Dalmatia, which now belongs to Austria, Fra Paolo always professed himself the servant of the State not less than of the ...Church — indeed more so, for his idea seemed to be that which Italy has come to adopt in the present day, " A Free Church in a Sovereign State " ; in him religion and patriotism were ever united. The fact that both these places belonged to the Republic — thus affording scope for this dual devotion ; that they were small — thus leaving him ample leisure to pursue his studies and experiments ; and that they were within easy reach of the capital, weighed with Fra Paolo in offering himself, or in allowing himself to be offered, as a candidate for them.
