R. K. Bailey, M. A. ; and the Workhouse Master is Mr. Joseph Rowland Jessop.
PUBLIC BUILDINGS, &c— Town Hall— The old Guild Hall of the borough stood at the south end of the present Market-place, and at the north end of the present Meat Market or Shambles. The building having fallen into a state of dilapidation, the materials of which it was composed were sold by auction in February, 180G, and the old structure was demolished in the month following.
