In most Arcadian country places, and even in Tripolitza itself, the injunction is " As soon as the remains come by your door, take a jug full of water, or a jar or some vessel, straightway empty this, pouring it from one end of the street to the other, or else empty it on the cornerstone of your house or pour it out in front of your door, or halfway between the four corners of your house.
