For the latter year a storage capacity of 1,400,000 acre-feet would have required and would be practically impossible to obtain economically.
To determine the possibilities of storage an investigation ...has been made of possible reservoir sites in the Tuolumne Basin and the fol- lowing table deduced therefrom. In the columns headed ^' utilizable '' is given the amount which during the dry years mentioned could be counted on from these reservoirs. This table divides the reservoirs as follows: 1. Those which are on drainage areas tributary to Hetch Hetchv and Cherry Valleys and Lake Eleanor, and which might become avail- able for either a city water supply or for irrigation. These make up over 80 per cent of the total capacity.
