THE OWEN FAMILY.
The Owen family, which forms the subject of this sketch, is of Welch origin, descendants of the ancient Kings of Wales. The Owen Glendowei-s, or Gleudower Owens, were persecuted by their enemies, and driven from their estates to the mountain wilds, whei*e they became shepherds; their ancestral home was in Marion- ethshire, Wales, one of the extreme western counties, the coast of which is washed by Cardigan Bay.
