On July 26, 1 87 1, Joseph Brumfield Kitchin was united in marriage with Nancy Elmira Robbins, a daughter of John E. And Nancy (Hunter) Robbins, a member of one of the oldest and most prominent families in Decatur county. Mrs. Kitchin also is of Revolutionary descent, tracing from William Robbins, a distinguished soldier in the war which secured to America the independence for which the patriots fought seven long years.
