During the spring the student spends 5 weeks in this laboratory working upon free-milling and refractory ore.
Metallurgy (Mr. Sharpless). — The course in metallurgy is given by text- book and illustrated lectures. During the year visits are made to the various metallurgical works of this vicinity, and reports made of the methods employed. It is hoped that a metallurgical laboratory will be opened soon, which will work in connection with the mining labora- tory.
