Kidder, deceased, who died before the land came into market, so that the Little Falls Company purchased the land from the government at the first land sale, in November, 1855. This purchase included the Kid- der claim and the land adjoining the village of Little Falls and that upon which it was located later, amounting in all to about two thousand acres.
