As stated in my testimony of March 8, 1994, before the Subcommi...ttee on Hospitals and Health Care, I believe the VA Medical Centers in Washington State may be in the unique position of having to expand services to meet the requirements of the State reform law. VA Central Office is currently developing plans to meet the employment levels proposed in the FY 1995 budget. At this point, I do not know the details of VA's plans and have no basis to judge the potential success of the initiative.
