It is made of a single bronze casting of a light colour, produced by the admixture of gold. In front stood a low stone table, bearing an immense bronze stork, with a brass candle in its mouth, an incense burner of bronze, and a vase with artificial lotos, flowers and leaves in brass. The whole is surrounded by a balustrade ; the entrance to the enclosure, being by a large bronze gate, not exposed to the open. The whole tomb is very impressive ; and surrounded as these temples are, by magnificent cedars and ( 269 ) cryptomerias, the whole neighbourhood is singularly appropriate for purposes of worship.
